Minh Hoang, Class of 2021
As a veteran who comes from a low-income family and as a first-generation student, I’ve always doubted myself. Uncertainty in my experience, qualifications and education come up often, and I have asked myself daily if I am even qualified to attend college. Fortunately, the diversity and inclusiveness of the UT Dallas culture has reassured me in knowing that I have a support system.
The friendships, confidence and skills that I’ve learned and gained are invaluable. I am more than satisfied with the program and can’t wait to showcase my knowledge and expertise in the workforce.
In my first semester, I was able to connect with my peers through different organizations, and I befriended multiple others. The friendships and connections that I made have been an enormous boon to my confidence. I have free rein to explore and discover myself fully.
One of the most significant factors in my personal and professional growth, excluding my friends and peers, is the undergraduate accounting program. I am fortunate to have the pleasure of being around multiple faculty members who care about my career and well-being. Their knowledge and personalities made the daily trip to school enjoyable, and their investment in my success encourages me to give one hundred percent and then some.
Aside from the faculty, the program’s abundant opportunities allow me to connect with professionals from various industries as well as empower me to push out of my comfort zone daily. As an ambitious and curious student, I couldn’t ask for more.
The friendships, confidence and skills that I’ve learned and gained are invaluable. I am more than satisfied with the program and can’t wait to showcase my knowledge and expertise in the workforce.
